The crew at Anki is super smart. We’re talking MacArthur Genius Grant meets NASA Space Station smart. Founded in 2010 by a trio of Ph.D. candidates at Carnegie Mellon’s esteemed Robotics Institute, they developed, tested, and released Anki DRIVE in 2013 to rave reviews.
Their second release, OVERDRIVE, ups the ante on its predecessor with new cars, new battles, and seemingly infinite track combinations built into the game’s evolving storyline. The real upgrade, however, is how it plays into the powers of the human imagination and brings people together to challenge each other and their imaginations.
We helped to balance the clean sophisticated DNA of a pioneering technology company and the story of a game that’s just plain fun regardless of your age. The clean yet high energy system brings OVERDRIVE’s story to life, filling in the space between the real world and the dynamic visuals of video games.

A series of cinematic live visuals for The Glitch Mob's 2015 EP and tour, "Piece Of The Indestructible".

"Behind The Blade" is a documentary about the pioneering LA electronic music trio, The Glitch Mob. Director Matthew F. Smith captured their intricate creative process in developing "The Blade", the Mob's groundbreaking interactive stage rig. I stepped in during the final stages of post to direct, design, and animate the titles, credits, and intro sequence.
V.Next is an episodic sci-fi adventure game, created by SyncBuildRun. I had the pleasure of directing, designing, and animating this retro-futuristic title sequence for the game.

Working with Wieden+Kennedy, I led the motion design and compositing on these TV spots for Laika's stop-motion film, "Paranorman". "Nailed It" and "A Champion Rises" aired throughout the 2012 Olympics. We worked closely with Laika to develop the concepts, and they created all the stop motion and audio assets for the spots.

It was an honor to work with the Labs team at Instrument on this project for TEDxPortland 2014. The theme was simply "Perfect", however, this is not such a simple word. In a culture where we strive for perfection in myriad ways, it presented an interesting challenge. How do we define "perfect"?
We created a title sequence film for the event, as well as the website, iOS app, and interactive installation for a 7k run. My role included art direction/concepting, shooting elements for the video, compositing, and music selection.

At Wieden+Kennedy, we had the opportunity to work directly with Portland's-own Urban Airship to create a series of animated videos to show the value of giving "Good Push" when it comes to sending push notifications from your mobile app.

How do you adventure? Do you run, hike, ride, climb, kayak or race your way through the outdoors? When there’s a fork in the road, which path do you take?
In a partnership with my friends at North, we created three broadcast spots and an interactive YouTube film for CLIF Bar's "Feed Your Adventure" campaign. All footage was crowd-sourced from real adventurers and CLIF-sponsored athletes.

The brainchild of Wes Parrish, I AM A LASER was created as an online magazine for electronic music culture. They tapped me to help design and direct a video series that would showcase upcoming artists. I made the first three videos, including filming and editing content for two musicians and a fashion design studio, as well as designing and animating the show packaging for the series.
