In 2001, I co-founded a boutique venue and video/audio production facility called "The Mobius". Having been a carpenter in a former life, I took care of the build-out, paying special attention to every detail.
The facility had a small but state-of-the-art performance and recording space, three edit bays, a pro tools suite, and an isolation booth. In addition to becoming a successful production company, the studio became a favorite community venue for intimate performances by well-known acts. Most shows were filmed with multiple cameras and recorded multi-track. In a pre-youtube era, the team would author DVDs and CDs of the shows and distribute them independently. Eventually, content was streamed live on the web via our online channel, made possible through a collaboration with Brightcove in developing one of the first live flash-encoded streaming video channels.
